The Pixel and Nemo stories

Pixel, the little soul

A little dog. So much heart. Stories that stay with us.

Pixel’s photos

Welcome to Pixel’s world, where cheeky canine thoughts meet imagination, humour and a whole lot of feeling. For everyone who holds dogs close to their heart.

So glad you’re here.

Our little leading character

More than a dog
in a story.

Pixel, the little soul, runs along a paved path in his blue jumper.

Behind Pixel, the little soul, is a real dog. And behind his stories is Rainer aka “the Big Guy”.

Pixel was a rescue dog. With him came a world where everyday life with a dog and imagination belong together: sometimes cheeky and funny, sometimes quiet and thoughtful – and always full of heart.

The Pixel and Nemo stories are for people who love animals. For everyone who can laugh at their little quirks and knows just how much space a dog can take up in your life.

A little dog who leaves a lasting pawprint.

Pixel’s story

Pixel, the little soul

Rainer aka “the Big Guy” sits on the floor with a yellow toy. Pixel runs happily towards him.

Pixel came into our family like a little whirlwind on 6 June 2021. 5 kg of dog with a damaged spine, but cheeky and full of life.

He came from Croatia, and the animal rescue organisation Tiere in Not Saar e. V. placed him in a foster home, where his lovely foster mum and her husband cared for him with love.

What followed were wonderful, exciting and exhausting years filled with laughter, tears and hope. Because this little fellow wasn’t really healthy. Bad teeth, undescended testicles, a damaged spine, a broken toe, later paralysis, a wheelchair and bladder infections. Yet none of this could hold back his incredible will to live, his zest for life or his love for his Big Guy and his human mum. There was a reason I often called him “adorably insistent”. 🥰
His favourite place was on me, in every possible way: on my legs, my belly, my arm or in my hoodie.
On 1 October 2026 at 5:30 pm, we had to guide him across the Rainbow Bridge.
He lived to be 16 years and 3 months old. For over 5 of those years, he enriched our lives.
He left not only me and his human mum grieving, but also a following of several thousand loving people on Facebook: his Little Soul Pack. ❤️
